Description:
This Federal tall-case clock by Major Timothy Chandler retains its rare original red painted surface and original works, presenting a striking and well-proportioned example of New Hampshire clockmaking. The case is of refined form, with a tall door and carefully executed details including a scrolled skirt and delicate fretwork. The saddle board is stamped twice “T. CHANDLER,” directly linking the clock to one of the most respected makers in the region. The survival of its original paint and strong state of preservation contribute to its exceptional presence.
