Steer weathervane - SOLD
Jonathan Howard and Co.
West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, c. 1860
American Antique Folk Art Weathervane
Molded copper and cast zinc, with original gilded surface
Length 28 inches

The weathervanes manufactured by The Jonathan Howard Co., are regarded as
the most beautiful, desirable, and stylized weathervanes produced, rivaled
only by that of the A. L. Jewell Co., of Waltham Massachusetts. This
wonderful example retains it fabulous original gilded surface and is in
excellent condition. Howard weathervanes of this desirability and
originality are becoming extremely uncommon.
