William P. and Polly Moore, Sarah S. Moore, and William E. Moore
ATTRIBUTED TO JUSTUS DALEE (1793-1878 Pomfret, New York, circa 1842 Each, watercolor and pencil on paper, 4 3/4 x 8 inches, and 8 x 4 3/4 inches, with original mahogany veneered frames.

THE SET CONSISTS OF: (A) Pair of bust-length profile portraits of William P. and Polly Moore, each within a black-painted spandrel, and framed together in the original mahogany veneered frame and original champhered-edge pine backboard, which appears to be inscribed in ink: Mr. & Mrs. Wm P. Moore
(B) Rrare full-length profile portrait of Sarah S. Moore, wearing a blue dress and holding a flower, with a checker pattern purse draped over her arm, retaining the original mahogany veneered frame and champhered-edge white pine backboard, which appears to be inscribed in ink: Sarah Moore
(C) Rare full-length profile portrait of William E. Moore wearing a black dress and holding a whip, retaining the original mahogany veneered frame and champhered edge white pine backboard.

NOTE: The 1850 United States census records the William P. Moore family in Pomfret, Chautauqua County, New York: William P. Moore listed as an Inn keeper, born in New York about 1810; his wife, Polly E. Moore, born in Vermont about 1811; their daughter, Sarah S. Moore, born about 1835, and their son William E. Moore born about 1838. The 1860 United States Federal Census shows the family living in Dunkirk, Chautauqua County, New York, with William P. Moore keeping a livery stable, and son William E.
