Signed lower right: "CMBARNITZ"

A possible identification for the artist of this boldly executed and vibrantly colorful still life may be the Carrie M. Barnitz listed in the 1900 United States Federal Census, age 19, a knitter of hosiery born in Pennsylvania in 1880, the daughter of Christian S. and Melissa R. Barnitz residing in Middletown Borough, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
